Flying with dragons

Here she is at the window. Trapped? Yes, here in Hong Kong my friend finds herself trapped. Trapped by the rampant yang energy, which no longer seems to be in dynamic balance with yin. No longer permeated and mediated by the reflective, caring qualities of yin. No longer part of a greater harmonious whole. Rampant yang is seen in the thrusting buildings, sharp angles, the tallest, the fastest, the make the most money. It is seen in the drive for efficiency, technology, economic rationalism, pre-emptive strikes. I am sure you have seen it even where you live.

But perhaps there is hope. A dragon is flying in the skies… or is it her imagination? The dragon, a mediator between heaven and earth, perhaps can infuse our souls with a sense of spirit. And with spirit isn’t anything possible? Even co-creation of a world where wholeness is valued? Now we just have to remember to fly with dragons. Not just on Sundays, or at festivals, but every day, in every moment. I have to go… my dragon is here and now.
