The surprising evolution of Marcia Greengage 2007 |
|
![]() |
Marcia Greengage is evolving. It is messy. And surprising. Sometimes Marcia’s evolution is intentional where she compassionately builds her own capacities to support transformation. At other times it comes from having her life unexpectedly turned inside out. Being perturbed and presented with dilemmas and crises that force her to strip herself bare and discover new ways of engaging with the world. Marcia knows she is taking a risk. Because with evolution you become a new species. You have a different consciousness and a different way of seeing and being in the world. In the place she is now, Marcia has a glimmer of who she might become. Perhaps deep down she is afraid at the immenseness she senses waiting for her. But Marcia is committed. She is committed because she is worried about the planet – climate change, the wars, poverty, economical rationalism, nationalism. She knows these issues can’t be truly solved with our current consciousness. She wonders where human consciousness might evolve to and what it might enable us to achieve. Marcia knows that to change the world, start with changing self. By living in the world as a transforming being we change the world. Welcome to Marcia’s journey. Perhaps in sharing her growing pains she can send ripples of evolutionary tendencies out into the world. Who knows. But be ready, because evolution can sneak up on you without you realising it. Take time to reflect and wonder about who you are becoming. Take time to mark the passages and smile.
